Well, I'm just so cross I can hardly blog! the greatest opportunity I have ever had to see the Northern Lights in it's full glory on my own doorstep and it's foggy!! Grrr! What a huge disappointment I'll just have to wait for our trip to Finland in august and hope for the best.
Have you seen the new Emma Bridgewater mugs? I was putting in an order for the shop and hovered over the fox mug and then came back to it and do you know I just couldn't bring myself to order it. They have killed so many of our chickens ( Ethel and Edna RIP) it just seems to glorify foxes and I know it's their instinct but they are sneaky nasty if you know what I mean ? so I shall be ordering the squirrel mug instead and maybe the hedgehog , a rat with a tail and a flea ridden spiky rat you might say! but somehow they've got the x factor.I have discovered a new blog Eline Pellinkhof from the Netherlands. The beautiful book below is by her and somehow I knew that I would love everything about this book, do you know what I mean? the colours, the choice of projects, mmm I can feel a major wanty on it's way. Has anyone got this book and what did they think?
Are you following Brenda's thrifty thursdays at cozy little house ? she is such a lovely person, blogs every day (phew!) and really makes my day, just what blogging is all about really! take care!

You have such a lovely blog!I like your pictures too. I will follow you.
Loving the new EB mugs especially the staffie one as we have 3 dogs!! I must get to visit your lovely shop as soon as I'm over the sniffles, Lucey x PS You'll have to give me directions. x
We can't see the northern lights either - too many clouds and its supposed to snow/rain mix tonight.
This is such a eye-catching blog! I feel your frustration about the Northern Lights... but you are visiting Finland in summer? Lucky lady!

Are'nt Eline's books lovely. She has a you tube link so you can see whats in them, looks really good. Thanks for the link to her blog.
I read your blog faithfully, and Brenda's as well - both lovely and homey! I'm afraid you might have trouble seeing the Northern Lights in Finland in August - it stays light until very late there, just like in Alaska! you'll just have to come visit us in Alaska in the wintertime!
I too missed the lights although the last time they were visible here I was lucky to see them, stunning!
The mugs are beautiful, I wouldn't be able to buy the rat, absolutely petrified of them they make my skin crawl. I can see why you feel so strongly about the foxes, being an ex gamekeepers daughter I know the destruction they can cause but I do think they are beautiful creatures. I love popping in to see what you've been up to and you never disappoint, it's always a pleasure.
Enjoy your weekend.
Peg x
