As I sit surrounded by buttons, ribbons and bits of fabric that I literally cannot bear to throw away, it crosses my mind how much I have in common with the generations of women that have gone before and how each of us adds another layer to an already generous helping of crafting cake! To this end, tuesday heralds the start of the Bespoke Country craft academy in the York shop (Victoria is having soo much fun with her fame academy spoof!). We've decided to hold it on the first tuesday of the month 5-7pm. It was only after I put up the notice in the shop and registered the first enthusiastic customer that it dawned on me it was next week! duh! So the first session will be a 'bring whatever you are working on' and we'll compare notes, chat have a cup of tea and cake and take it from there - a well thought through plan as you can see!! However there's only two chairs in the York shop so I think I'll have to purloin some pretty soon or we'll all be sitting on the floor, might put a call out on freecycle! memo to self- get act together and think before speaking ( at the VGP last sunday I challenged Mike to a game of crochet- of course meaning croquet!!!) Do you like my new boxes in the pic? they were a serious wanty from Paperchase, I love that shop but always want to discreetly run my hands over all the lovely tidy lines of stock ( I dream of a bespoke shop like this but let's face it , it's just so not our look!!!) the one on the end is going to be for a little girl I know as it just looks like her!
