What turbulant times here at Red House HQ! This week has been sooo eventful and it's only thursday I don't know how much more I can take....Nice things first though, our lovely Red House now has some new windows, the ones over the old stable in the picture at the front were so rotten and despite twenty coats of paint were still falling apart, the joiners are coming to finish them today, they are lovely, wooden, double glazed storm windows so will be okay when the North Sea acts up a bit! secondly my decorating pal Bill has finished another room in the house, hurrah! It's a bedroom we are decorating for Hannah and her new baby girl due in august so pink was the required colour and resulted in a very happy little scurry around in York to find lovely paper this weekend. Bill has done a fantastic job, I love wallpaper and often begrudge putting the pictures back up. Next news, not so good, Theo has had both his arms broken in an incident at a taxi rank in York on sunday night, needless to say our world fell apart until we knew he was okay and fortunately they caught the perpetrater. I am so proud of him though as they were broken because he put them over his work colleague's head to protect him from being kicked, he's my hero! of course following in the true Slade work ethic he's back at work on sunday with his fit to work certificate! quite what he's going to do will be interesting!! so will end on a happy note... had a stand at the Ambassador Hotel's wedding fair on sunday and met some really great people and a fab photographer Polly Robinson who does the degree piccy's for Westwood's costume dept here in Scarborough, this was great news as the show is my absolute highlight of the year, I can't tell you it's all my favourite things in one place.. designers, costumes, singing, dancing all down in the round, extreme and exciting! and then up to all the studios to have a really good touchy, feely look around and give loads of encouragement and wish them all well, we usually have a special bonus because Emilie models and dances for them and I got a lovely picture last year, fingers crossed for this year!
