Early Mornings

Is it me or was this the most beautiful morning ever? When I woke up this morning I had a feeling, not a Jenny Agutter in 'the Railway Children' sort of a feeling, just a feeling that I would be much happier being up in the sunshine in the garden than trying to get some more sleep and do you know that feeling was spot on! This is my very favourite time of year just before midsummer somehow it's just not the same afterwards. So I made use of the time, of course!, when I was walking back from town the other day I stopped to talk to Laurie a retired builder who used to live opposite our old house and he promised to deliver a bush he was digging up and throwing away, (well we can't have that can we?) so there I was this morning in polkadot dressing gown, pj's and wellies digging a big hole like something out of midsomer murders! and it ended up being almost body sized for the blinking tree roots! but job done and quite proud of myself something else to cross off the to do list on a monday morning! Funny story about Laurie though, one day I came home and as a surprise he had mended my wobbly, original bakelite door bell which was great but unfortunately he took it upon himself to paint it with airfix paint in gold!!!! well, the children managed to put me in the recovery position to get over the shock but my bell was never the same again!
