Itchy fingers
I had a lovely surprise in the post this morning from Marilyn, a customer that travels a long way to visit us in York and who we used to see at the Country Living Fair, it was as you can see a book to help me with my quest to actually crochet something that might look vaguely appealing! so thanks Marilyn! the classic old american squares are just what I'd been looking for and I have just found a lovely wool shop to mooch around which was sadly closed on friday night after I shut the shop, much to Rachel's relief! We had a massive downpour in Scarborough yesterday and I spent a feverish hour running from room to room checking on all the sneaky little leaky roof patches I know are there, but all was okay! We still haven't tracked down who left the hatch open on the turret a few months ago resulting in a completely sodden wall, mind you it took me nine, yes, nine years to finally find out who put their foot through my new coffee table in 1999. I think it was the only occassion in which my investigative talents with four small children failed completely, but as they say everything comes to she who waits and one slip of the tongue at a family dinner in 2008 and the truth was mine! hah! oh what sweet victory!!! ( of course I forgave them but may one day practise my disco dancing on their coffee table!)
